What He Said

I well realize the galactic scope of Americans' capacity for utterly mindless, contentless, meaningless spectacle. God knows, I've written about it often enough. But the absolutely overwhelming amount of colossal shit attendant upon this inauguration ("Look, Mom! Barack made me fly!" -- I do not exaggerate even slightly, scroll to about the midpoint of the story) is enough to make anyone who remains remotely sane loathe all mankind throughout all eternity.

I post this brief message only to let those few of you who have not lost your fucking minds know that you are not alone. Some of us, perhaps three or four hundred, still retain some connection to reality. But it frays and is under lethal attack. Whether the connection will survive the next day or two is an open question. Recourse to alcohol (and/or other substances of your choosing), sex and other diversions might be the wisest choice, until midweek at the earliest. Let's play safely: make it until the weekend. Hell, through the weekend.

I'm sure that other empires in their final phase of decline exhibited similar signs of complete intellectual collapse, combined with ungraspably trivial sentimentality that would embarrass a four-year-old of average intelligence. But the determined refusal to face facts, including the foundational fact that Obama is a singularly dangerous fraud, in tandem with Americans' love of political philosophy and ideas in general as expressed in a Hallmark card may well be unmatched in history.

To those of you so devotionally intent on celebrating this historically historic moment in history, as you accuse those few of us who are still capable of speaking in full sentences with actual referents of being "cynical" and shockingly lacking in what you so irresponsibly and reprehensibly call "idealism": Have a moronically good time, morons.

He deserves something for that post alone but he has written so much more that deserves to be in Time or Newsweek rather than on an anonymous blog.

Why I Love Dr. Violet Socks at Reclusive Leftist

Dr. Violet Socks rocks. I'm just pasting her entire post below because she plainly states what the Fembots don't understand: Obama is not, in any way shape or form, a feminist"

The reason it’s offensive to put Obama on the cover of Ms. as a feminist is because he is not a feminist

There, I thought I’d put the whole thing right there in the title, for the twits who are having trouble following along.

I visited my friend Ann Bartow’s blog and discovered that the Obama Girls at Jezebel and Slate are crazy-mad because some of us are failing to adequately worship Dreamboat Barry. Some of us have taken issue with the Ms.cover, pointing out that it’s ridiculous to praise Obama as a feminist (much less a super-feminist) when he isn’t one. In fact, he’s actually a pretty obvious sexist with a long record of offenses. It’s not that he’s a man; it’s that he’s an asshole. It makes no more sense to put Obama on the cover of Ms. than it would to put George W. Bush there.

The problem is that for the fangirls, the word “feminist” is meaningless. They just love Dreamboat Barry. If being a “feminist” is a good thing, then by golly, Dreamboat Barry is it! He’s everything good! He’s the handsomest man in the world! And the smartest! And the bravest! He’s a magical prince from a faraway kingdom! He’s a beautiful pony with a long silky tail! He’s a sweet puppy that runs and barks! He’s an ice cream cone! He’s the sparkly stars in the sky!

Ach. I hope these twits wake up soon, ’cause I’m not going to be able to stand four years of this shit.

I had already read the attacks on Obama supporter Ann Bartlow at Feminist Law Professors because (gasp!) she criticized the Ms. Obama cover. "How dare she!", the Villagers cried. How dare this so-called Obama supporter criticize the Messiah. Earlier today I posted this comment at The Confluence about this total non-issue that has gotten Obots' panties in a twist:

Feminist Law Professors has been accused of being a PUMA site because they criticized the Ms. cover. The most recent post says that the author of the blog is not PUMA and voted for Obama in the SC primaries. I honestly don’t care who FLP voted for and I’m glad that even though she voted for Obama she hasn’t completely lost her mind.

Law prof Heidi Li isn’t a PUMA but she supports the movement and isn’t ashamed of associating herself with sites like PUMAPac and The Confluence as long as her message of fighting against sexism and disenfranchisement gets to as many people as possible. She has been viciously attacked for this.

The author of FLP needs to realize that ANYONE who criticizes Obama will be labeled a traitor, a PUMA (dirty word!), a racist, and a Republican. This is the type of environment that was created by Obama surrogates and supporters during the primaries so there is no turning back now. If FLP is unhappy now, just wait until after Obama is sworn in. Feminists have lost all credibility after this election which is why my site is dedicating to eradicating “feminists” at Ms. and other Washington establishments who sold out early and got punk’d, thereby screwing all of us over who want to hold Obama’s feet to the fire.

I’m expecting the feminist movement to crash and burn because of this and the only women I feel sorry for are the millions who are not part of the Washington establishment. Those who have prostituted themselves and sold their beliefs deserve to go under, get voted out of their positions, and leave Washington in shame.

A Lesson in Feminism 101 for Ms.

This is what a feminist can look like:

This is NOT what feminism looks like:

Do You Hear That Rumbling of Anger? It's the Beginning of a New Feminist Revolution

Ms. has attempted to play down the chorus of concerned and angry voices who have begun to analyze the deeper meaning of having a man on the cover of Ms. who told the first woman in history to win a presidential primary that she was "likable enough", that when "she was feeling down" the "claws come out", that abortion shouldn't be available to women who are just "feeling blue", whose surrogates lashed out at Hillary Clinton for crying before the New Hampshire primary as somehow racist because she didn't cry for the victims of Katrina.

Those who worship at the altar of Obama and see nothing wrong with his stance on gay marriage, his invitation to homophobe Rick Warren to speak at his historic inauguration, his comments about women, Hillary Clinton and abortion during the primaries, are saying that those who oppose the Ms. inauguration cover are overreacting.

Well, let me tell you that PUMAs (Clinton supporters who protested the election by abstaining their vote, voting for McCain, or voting for a third party candidate) aren't the only ones who disapprove of the cover. Feminist Law Professors (pro-Obama), Heidi Li Feldman (who did not vote for McCain), and Shakesville (pro-Obama), among other feminist blogs, have questioned the cover and its intentions (besides the obvious goals to try and increase subscriptions and profits).

Ms. screwed up big time and if they want to maintain their credibility, they need to own up to their mistake before it's too late. Whether or not they believe Obama is a feminist is irrelevant. They received what must have been thousands of angry letters and emails from their readership which is why it made the news. Those people should have their concerns addressed rather than be brushed aside.

If Ms. doesn't publish a respectable response in their next issue that takes into consideration valid reasons why Obama should not have been portrayed as a superman feminist on their cover, they will suffer the consequences. I'm willing to predict that Ms. subscriptions and sales will plummet within a year once those who only bought a copy or a subscription for the Obama issue and poster don't renew. Not only that, if and when Obama makes another Rick Warren type of blunder or turns his backs on the feminist agenda to appease his conservative supporters, Ms. will be disgraced, embarrassed, and irrelevant. Or is that the risk they are willing to take in order to make a temporary profit gain and stay on the good side of Obama and his young female supporters?

We thought things had gotten bad enough after having to endure a slew of sexist attacks on Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin, and their supporters. But to have those same nasty attacks come from women feminists of all people has become the breaking point for many.

Ms. has no idea what they've started and I expect the dissent to only get louder in several years once more and more realize they've been bamboozled and who has been doing the bamboozling to further their own agenda and career. Just as with Bush, the media can only protect their chosen candidates for so long. The truth will eventually come out and organizations like Feminist Majority will reap what they have sown.

Not That Kind of Feminist

I decided to start this blog because of the growing dissatisfaction among women with the feminist leadership in our country. If you are wondering why feminism has become a joke to the point where presidential candidates and journalists feel at ease using sexism, just look at the prostitution and selling-out going on right in the offices of our female leadership in Washington:

Whatever sells magazines, right?

Katherine Spillar using CNN, not as a platform to push women's rights, but as an infomercial to advertise the Ms. mag's special inaugural issue:

"Feminist" Naomi Wolff thinks Obama is Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa rolled all into one and labels anyone who is offended by the cover a right winger:

No Naomi, we never said that men couldn't be feminists. We are saying THAT man, THAT man and his male surrogates who used sexism to beat Hillary Clinton, THAT man who decided to run in a year when it could have been possible for a well-qualified, experienced, and passionate woman and advocate for women and children to become president, should not be on the cover of a feminist magazine.

After Election 2008, I realized that these women do not speak for me nor do they speak for millions of women in this country who worked their heart out to elect a female president. They call themselves feminists but their actions speak to the contrary. Instead of taking other women's concerns to heart, they tell us that we are no longer needed.

Regardless of who you voted for in this election, if you think there is something seriously wrong going on here and that there should be new leadership in the halls of Ms., NOW, Feminist Majority, NARAL, and Planned Parenthood - then this is the blog for you.

I don't care if you voted for Obama or McCain in the general election or if you stayed home in disgust. If you were one of the millions of women who voted for Hillary Clinton only to wonder why the feminists you found on cable news networks were singing a different tune, then it is time for us to hold their feet to the fire. If Naomi Wolff is a feminist then I am a different kind of feminist. If Ms. believes Barack Obama is the new face of feminism, I'm ready to create a different kind of feminism with women and men who have truly devoted their lives fighting for women, children, minorities, and LGBT groups as the face of another kind of feminism.

I'm the original feminist ready to fight for the term these women with a corporate agenda and dollar signs in their eyes have stolen from us and turned into a way for them to make money and advance their careers. I'm ready to dispell the myths and lies perpetuated by the feminist elite and return our goals to the first cover of Ms. where all of us Superwomen could become president.

Naomi Watts, I'm not your kind of feminist and I'm proud of it. Get used to defending your crush for the next 4 years because neither I nor the millions of women you insulted this week are going away.
